Event Report: Best of Britain 2022

Event Report: Best of Britain 2022

The “Best of Britain” exhibit returned to the Simeone Foundation Museum in Philadelphia from February 5-13. Over the course of two weeks, fourteen different British cars were on display at the museum to demonstrate the theme of this year’s focus, “A Study of British Racing Green.”

This year’s guest speaker was Greg Porter, who gave a special presentation that delved into the facts, the fiction and the lore around one of the most iconic and oft-debated colors, British Racing Green. A certified specialist from the Bonham’s auction company, Greg revealed how the color evolved from the original pale-green on early Napier race cars to its dark, somber present-day interpretation.

More than 300 people came out for the presentation which culminated in one of the museum’s signature Demo Days, where a sampling of the collection’s vehicles are taken outside to be seen and heard in their natural environment. With a welcome spell of warm weather, attendees were treated to watching the Aston Martin DBR 1 run, among other rare and desirable cars.

As a sponsor of the event, Ragtops & Roadsters is proud to have once again been a part of the Best of Britain exhibit. We look forward to next year when we’ll celebrate the 100th anniversary of MG at this wonderful venue.
